Proposal Solution Architect

Position Description

Deep Water Point & Associates is seeking experienced Proposal Solution Architects to support our clients’ most critical proposal efforts. This individual is responsible for collaborating with our clients’ executive teams, capture managers, operations teams, and subject matter experts to design and develop winning solutions for our clients’ most important and challenging proposals. These solutions span across technical and management disciplines, as well as across the civilian, DOD, and IC agencies and departments. This role is part technologist, part capture manager, part proposal SME, and part engagement manager, and requires the individual to develop and translate capture strategy and technical and operational delivery capabilities into compelling and compliant proposal content.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates proposal and capture resources and manages interdependencies between multi-disciplinary teams to develop high-quality proposal content that satisfies procurement requirements while showcasing client offerings
  2. Develops persuasive win themes and practical delivery approaches that apply technical concepts and business capabilities to solve specific mission challenges
  3. Combines strategic thought leadership with the ability to guide, write, and review proposal sections irrespective of the discipline, technology, or requirements of those sections
  4. Elicits inputs from Subject Matter Experts and crafts them into crisply worded, persuasive arguments to describe how critical technologies address strategic enterprise objectives
  5. Provides capture consultation and advice, including inputs to bid/no-bid decisions, staffing and pricing strategies, and responses to evaluation notices
  6. Engages key clients and company thought leaders to develop trusted relationships and collaborative rapport to deliver on our “client first” and “best idea wins” ethos
  7. Coaches and mentors junior team members, offering strategic perspective across the entire bid/capture process, and providing high level direction.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Federal procurement: The individual must have a strong understanding of the capture and proposal lifecycle, as well as a working understanding of the federal procurement process, including the FAR, contracting vehicles, and the nuances of federal contracting
  • Adaptability: The role requires individuals to work both collaboratively and independently in a variety of work environments, each with their own unique battle rhythm and personality. The individual must be able to provide the same level of quality support across a diverse set of customers
  • Attention to detail: Working on client-facing deliverables, where customers expect high-quality, winning proposals, requires the individual to have a fastidious attention to detail with a sense of urgency
  • Communication: The individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate themes, ideas, and other insights to management, relevant stakeholders, and evaluation boards
  • Problem-solving skills: The individual be intellectually curious with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas for solving complex problems and producing outcomes
  • Flexibility: The individual must be able to adjust to frequent changes in priorities, effectively manage time and work across multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Computer skills: The individual must possess strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Office and PowerPoint

Desired Levels

Applicants will be hired at the Principal, Director, or Vice President level commensurate with experience, background, and education.

Desired Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A combination of education and/or experience with IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, and/or Business Management disciplines is preferred
  • Experience: Ten (10) or more years of experience designing solutions in response to federal RFPs as well as leading capture and proposal engagements
