Senior Consultant

Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to work in our Strategy and Management Consulting practice.  The client-facing role will focus on developing analyses to support growth strategies for small, mid-tier, and large firms in the government consulting, services, and products sectors.  Specifically, the individual will perform various consulting functions, which primarily identify and solve complex business, organizational, and operational challenges while defining and improving associated processes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leveraging market/customer research, trends, and competitor analysis to help customers to drive revenue, improve market share, and enhance customer loyalty
  • Undertaking market analysis/modeling, portfolio metric reporting, and operational support related to strategy
  • Performing growth analysis with financial modeling around pipeline sizing, growth forecasts, and revenue projections
  • Conducting analysis of large datasets to assess the market attractiveness and customer ability to perform in the Federal Government market
  • Providing insight into overall strategy by identifying critical areas (findings) to focus analysis and provide strategic paths forward
  • Summarizing insights from analysis and clearly communicating analytical findings in a cohesive narrative, and articulating an argument to be presented to executives
  • Providing and communicating strategy recommendations to address competition, changes in government trends/ preferences, and improvements in technology and marketing tools
  • Developing client-facing materials with Microsoft Office products, using skill in PowerPoint to turn textual information into compelling, easily understood graphics

It is critical for the senior consultant to be comfortable in a highly entrepreneurial environment while delivering on multiple different engagements simultaneously.  Additional requirements include:

  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of platforms to clearly articulate the insights from findings to management, relevant stakeholders, and clients
  • Must be intellectually curious with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas for solving complex business problems
  • Possesses the capacity to analyze data objectively, applying logical thought to provide short-, mid-, and long-term strategic recommendations
  • Must possess advanced skills across Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with a preference to advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Delivers on promises and commitments
  • Takes pride in work and creating a polished product
  • Able to adjust to frequent changes in priorities, effectively managing time and working across multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Desires continuous improvement and is accepting of feedback
  • Takes initiative to identify solutions before escalating to others
  • Works well independently or in a team environment

Desired Education & Experience

  • Education: BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Economics, or Statistics, or in a related field
  • Experience: Three to Five (3-5) years hands-on experience in management consulting, with experience in the federal market preferred
